Exam Details Michigan

These are the Michigan Examinations we primarily prepare our students for:

Michigan E.C.C.E. (The Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English) is a high-intermediate level B2 general exam which emphasizes communication skills. It is valid for the lifetime of the recipient and is often seen as a stepping stone on the path to more advanced examinations. In Greece, the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) awards 30 points for this qualification.

Michigan A.L.C.E. (Advanced Level Certificate in English) is an internationally recognized C1 certification which is administered internationally by the Hellenic American University. In Greece, the ASEP recognizes A.L.C.E. as a language certification for obtaining employment in the public sector and awards 50 points to candidates. Additionally, ALCE can also be used as proof of advanced language competence for obtaining employment and for further studies. Obtainment is valid for the lifetime of the recipient.

Michigan E.C.P.E. (The Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English) is a highly advanced level C2 English examination. It is official documentary evidence of advanced proficiency in the English language and can be used for academic and professional purposes. ASEP awards 70 points for this qualification. Under the CEFR framework, it is valid for the life-time of the recipient.

Terms B2, C1, and C2 are aligned to the Common European Framework of References (CEFR) for Languages as published by the European Council and are internationally recognised as such (www.coe.int/).

The Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) is the governing body in Greece which recognizes and assigns value to these examinations for civil service job placements (www.asep.gr/).
